Artist Statement

My work reimagines the still life genre as the study of intimate, feminine spaces and objects. I’ve found inspiration in masterpieces from the Dutch Golden Age, which are distinguished by their subtlety: delicate light sources illuminate suggestive details and nuanced tonal gradation. My oil paintings use this kind of delicacy to offer a glimpse into the softness and peace of my secret world, bathed in radiance and light.
The objects I paint are fragments of my journey to become my present self. The dance of natural light evokes a feeling of quiet wonder and lingering nostalgia. I invite the viewer to pause and bask in this feeling along with me.
